RJD leader chased for 1 km, shot at multiple times by bike-borne men in Bihar

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and state general secretary Pankaj Yadav was shot in Bihar’s Munger on Thursday morning. He was shot by two bike-borne men while he was out on a morning walk near the airport.
Former RJD MLA Vijay Kumar, while speaking to India Today about the incident, said that Yadav used to go for a walk every morning. However, he was chased down by the two men for nearly a kilometer and was shot at by the bike-borne men several times, he claimed.
While Pankaj Yadav managed to escape, one of the bullets hit him in the chest, following which he was rushed to the hospital, Kumar stated.
“I was walking in the field when the assailants came and shot at me. After that, I lost consciousness,” Pankaj Yadav said.
A top police official said that one of the accused has a criminal background and information regarding his connections is being gathered.
“Is this good governance? Leaders of Opposition parties are being shot. There is not much difference in the situation of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar now. Crime and criminals are dominant in Bihar. It is clearly visible that the credibility of the government has ended. Crime and criminals are happy in Bihar and the administration is in a shambles,” RJD leader Ejaz Ahmad said.
The bullet has been removed and Pankaj Yadav’s condition is said to be stable.
Notably, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav criticised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government over the law and order situation in the state.
