Wahl Eversharp Pegasus "Flying Horse" Skyline Desk Set
Skyline pens and desk sets were introduced by Wahl Eversharp in the early 1940's. This desk set is copper-toned metal in the shape of a shield with a winged horse (Pegasus) mounted on top of the base. It measures 4 x4 inches , has scooped-out ovals on each side, and is in good condition with no damages to the base. The horse, however, is missing its tail. These sets are commonly attributed to the Socony (Mobil) Oil Company.  I have seen them with a tiered Wahl pen holder form the latest 1930's and a model that was a bit larger with an ash tray. The pen holder is the correct bullet-shaped Skyline model and is mounted on the swivel that Wahl used from the late 1920's and into the 1940's. It is in excellent condition. The desk pen is a correct Skyline model with a correct 14K  Skyline nib (fine point). The pen has been restored with a new pen sac. These sets are not common.
