EVERSHARP "64" LADIES PEN IN DUBONNET RED LF, SOLID 14K GOLD CAP/TRIM

This listing is for an EVERSHARP "64" FIFTH AVENUE LADIES' pen in DUBONNET RED from about 1943 and in beautiful condition. This pen is 4-11/16" long and has all 14K gold cap and hardware. Both the gold and the plastic body are excellent with no dents or flaws.  The pen is a lever filler and still takes up several drops of ink even though the lever doesn't have quite full throw and is a little stiff.  This might improve with careful use. Cap is marked at the top, EVERSHARP in big bold letters  and a second line,  14K SOLID GOLD PAT. MADE IN USA. Removing the slip -on/off cap reveals the art deco hooded 14kt nib which in this case is a medium rigid point with good iridium. Unlike many Fifth Avenue pens which have ill fitting caps, removal and replacement of the cap is quite smooth with this pen. I believe this is the cleanest and best operating pen of this model I've had.
